About UsWe are the Jones's, an ordinary family of five that lives in Keller, TX. Danny and Nathalie met in college and fell in love shortly after. They dated for fourteen years and have traveled abroad for several years. Danny and Nathalie have earned large amounts of money over the years and unfortunately have nothing to show for it today. They went through a very difficult time that almost led to divorce. The #1 discussion during this difficult time was money and that led to money fights. While listening to financial personalities and taking classes on debt elimination, they were presented with a few important questions.
QUESTIONS:
While scrambling to find answers for the questions above, it seemed as though the bottom was falling out of their boat. They were no longer allowed to make financial choices, they were pushed into a corner where they would either sink or swim. Follow them on their journey as they share with the world how they are currently sinking or swimming with finances. This blog will be maintained by Nathalie, she will share various steps that are taken while the Jones's are taking debt-free steps. |
Who We Are |
Danny is a retired professional athlete, currently he is an account manager for a beer distribution company and Nathalie is an educator for a local university. We are Christians, we love watching, playing and being in the atmosphere of basketball, we love comedy, we enjoy traveling and exposing our kids to "new" adventures. We have been married for eight years and have three beautiful children. We are from the south, the oldest children to our parents and enjoy spending time with our children. Our lives work well together, but some of our largest disagreements have surrounded finances. So, now that we have learned various steps to take control of our finances the differences of opinions are minimal.

Our History |
Both of us were raised in families that did not discuss finances, but of our mothers taught us a lot about having fun. So, when we became adults we continued to have fun and never focused on our future. Four years ago our family was struck with an medical emergency that we were not prepared for. During this time we experienced utilities being turned off, we lost cars, our home, furniture, friends and ultimately had to relocate. That situation rocked us to our core and caused us to evaluate our current space in the world. Very quickly we realized that we had become out of control with our spending habits. Together we have committed to paying off our debt and to inspire others while doing so. As we take this journey we plan to enjoy our children and one another. Therefore, we will share our life experiences and how we managed our budget at the same time.
